Weekly News Update – 10.29.17

Hello Webster Staff and Families,

The PTO is returning to a weekly news release to help promote our events and share information about Webster Elementary. A link to this update will be posted to our Facebook page and emailed to our most current email list for staff and families. We are in the process of updating out parent contact info and apologize if you’re no longer a Webster Family and are continuing to receive our updates. Please e-mail us at our PTO address and we’ll remove you promptly. Staff: If you’re aware of a new Webster Family that is clamoring for more information about school events or PTO in particular, please share our info with them and we can add them to our mailing list. We appreciate your patience with us as we work out the kinks of this still relatively new school year!

Fall Fest! Thank you, thank you, thank you for joining us for our annual Fall Fest at school! We had a great turn out from Webster Families and it was a great night of games, crafts, bouncing, food, and magic. We are grateful to all the businesses that volunteered their time to be at school and pass out candy and other treats. A special thank you to those that volunteered to help make our event happen. If you’re interested in learning more about how you can help with our next event, email or Facebook message the PTO and we’ll gladly let you know! :)

News Update for 10/16 to 11/3

Hi Webster Families,

Here’s the news for the next two weeks:

  • Our biggest event for the fall is our annual Fall Fest! This community building event will be on Tuesday, October 24th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Webster Elementary. We will have a candy trail featuring local businesses sharing both candy and info about their organizations. There will be no cost for the candy trail for Webster students and siblings; we ask for a $2 admission fee for non-Webster students who wish to go through the candy trail.
  • We will have a craft/game room, a snake/reptile exhibit, a magic show, balloon twisters, and a bounce house as special entertainment. All of these activities will be free! The magic show will be at 6:30 PM in the gym.
  • We will have a concession stand available with food and drink. Cash only for the concession stand please.
  • Our Fall Fest will also feature some PTO Fundraising efforts:
    • We are having a bake sale that parents, guardians, and teachers contribute to. Here is a link to the sign up page: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0d44aaad2aa7f58-fall1
      • Please drop off baked goods at school, either after school on the 23rd or the morning of the 24th.
    • We will also have a raffle baskets that we’re asking families for donations. An information sheet went home with the last Tuesday folder and outlined the themes for each grade level.
      4K – Cooking Fun
      K – Arts & Crafts
      1st – Movie Night
      2nd – Game Night
      3rd – Taco Night
      4th – Italian Dinner
      5th – Ice Cream Sundae
      • Please have these donations into school by Friday, October the 20th. Thanks!
  • PTO is looking for volunteers for Fall Fest. We need help with selling concessions, selling bake sale items, selling raffle tickets, greeting at the candy trail, and monitoring the bounce house. These will be about one hour of volunteering per area. Please reach out to PTO if you’re able to help.

Other events and happenings in the next two weeks:

  • School Picture Re-Take day is Wednesday, October 25th.
  • There is no school on Friday, October 27th.
  • Hansen’s Order pick-up is on Thursday, November 2nd. Pick up is from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the backdoor off the gym.
